8/16/2026. Tessa is a high energy terrier mix with her own unique beauty. She is very affectionate (lots of kisses) and really wants to be a lap dog, but she just can't figure out what to do with her long legs when on your lap! She stands about 17 inches tall at the shoulder and those long legs are strong enough that she can jump straight up about 3 feet. When she was picked up at the vet's office after her initial multi-day stay, the vet reported that she was an escape artist and she has lived up to that name in her foster home. Tessa's ability to jump and climb wire fences have resulted in beefed up security to keep her safe, both in the xpen and in the dog yard.
Tessa is doing well with house training and will take herself in and out of the doggie door. She is very interested in barking at the ducks in the barn yard, but is not much of a barker in other situations. Tessa also loves soft, stuffed animals and often carries one around with her in the house. Initially she was collecting them in her crate, but she is now secure enough to leave them lying around. Tessa enjoys play wrestling with the other young dogs in the house and tries to be the bossy-pants of the pack. She would do well in a home with another young dog, as long as she can be in charge.
8/3/2026. Tessa is a pretty black-brindle terrier mix. She is just 3 years old and weighs 17 lbs. She is a shy and timid lass, but she is friendly with her foster home folks. Tessa came into CCTR with 3 companions, and she is being fostered along with her "brother," Bobbie, in South Carolina.
