9/9/2026. Sweet Robin really puts the cousin in Cairns and Cousins Rescue. Her DNA test showed she is 57% Boston Terrier (which explains the underbite) and 30% Schnauzer, with a few random breeds mixed in. She loves to jump in your lap and have some snuggles, and she is fast as lightning, especially racing around outside with Trevor. She loves her foster brother Trevor and plays with him so much it's hard to photograph them apart. She is sweet as can be and settles down quickly. Robin just had a blood test at the vet's this week to check out some weird liver numbers, and we are delighted to report she is just fine, all numbers normal. She is 99 percent potty trained, great on a walk, and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. It would be wonderful if someone wanted twice the love and adopted her and Trevor together, and they seem to be distressed when separated. Robin is a sweet girl who is ready for a home of her own.
8/18/2026. Welcome Robin, who puts the cousin in Cairns and Cousins. She was found as a stray living with some other dogs under a porch, and we couldn't just leave her there because she was not terrier enough. She is a sweetie pie, who is as gentle and sweet as can be and seems to have only just learned that laps are wonderful places and putting your paws up on a person is a road to lots of pets and love. Don't be fooled by her sweet demeanor; Robin loves her foster brother Trevor and loves to play rough with him, chasing and biting and carrying on for far longer than you would expect. She doesn't seem interested in toys, and has also learned that couches are wonderful places for naps and snuggling. Robin is doing very well with housebreaking. And while she can take a few minutes to warm up to people, it is not long before she is in their laps asking for cuddles. Everyone is curious exactly what breeds she is, so we did a DNA test over the weekend and are waiting for results. She has an adorable under-bite that narrows the choices somewhat, but tune in to see what kind of cousin she is. We are lucky to have her.
8/6/2026. Robin is sooooooooooooooo sweet, has just learned how to jump in my lap, often puts her paws up and wags tail and gives sweet little kisses. Shy with new people at first. Husband took her for a quick walk last night and she did well on leash.
