1/1/2026. Rissa is a sweet and friendly terrier that was picked up off the street by a local rescue. She appears to be a family dog that had fallen on hard times since she is crate and house trained and walks on a leash without pulling. She even knows a few simple commands. Rissa has been undergoing heartworm treatment but has finished the confinement portion of that process and is now available for adoption. She still needs a dental evaluation and a hair/skin evaluation because she has little hair on her body. Sweaters are a needed fashion item for this gentle older girl! Rissa plays with the resident dogs in her foster home, but what she really wants is to be close to her people. She loves cuddling on a lap or curling up at your feet. If you are looking for a more mellow terrier companion, please give this lovely girl your consideration.
8/29/2025. Rissa is sweet sweet sweet little Westie girl who has tested postive for Heartworm Disease. She also has some concerning skin issues. But when she is ready for adoption, she will be a real looker. Rissa is just 9 years old and weighs 17lbs. We all know that she is Rissa Strong and will pull through her H/W disease with flying colors. Stay tuned and keep checking back for updates on this sweet girl. She'll be waiting for you. <3
