CCTR Tag Program and Lost Dog Line

The CCTR Tag Program

Cairns and Cousins Terrier Rescue provides an identification tag for your dog upon adoption. This is an essential final step in our adoption process, and will help us help you in the event your dog is lost or stolen. We have your contact information and information about your dog in our records, but if you have any changes such as a new address, phone, email, emergency contacts, or veterinarian, etc., please fill out our update form as soon as possible.

If your dog loses their tag, you can request a replacement tag by sending us a message via our Contact Us page. A CCTR volunteer will respond and help you obtain a new tag.

The Lost Dog Line (1-866-506-7461)

Because your CCTR dog is in our tags database, you will be able to call our Lost Dog Line to ask for assistance from CCTR in getting the word out if your dog is missing.

It’s happened to you, someone you know, or you’ve heard stories from a friend of a friend. Someone forgot to latch the gate to the backyard. A hole was dug under the fence. Even stories where someone broke into a home and left the front door open. It’s a gut wrenching feeling to discover that a beloved pet is missing.

Losing a pet, no matter what the cause, is an emotional trauma that could possibly end with the death of your family pet, or the inability to return your pet to you due to lack of identification.

CCTR offers a LOST PET IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM.  This type of program has helped many rescues and CCTR's can help your pet find their way back home.

When an animal is found, the collar is always checked first for an identification tag.  It is an immediate form of identification telling them who to contact if your pet is found.

This program is intended to provided your pet with an additional layer of protection in addition to tattoos and microchips, not to replace them as they are important means of pet identification.  Anyone can find our toll free number and website information without having to take your pet to a shelter or vet to check for a microchip or tattoo; many folks are not even aware of them.

  • Secondary Contact (spouse/partner) – provide primary and alternate phone numbers if possible and email addresses to contact owners.
