CCTR’s Dog Tails of Summer – Salty – Adopted 6/9/2026

Salty has finally quit pulling and walks nicely with me. He pays little attention now to the deer on the side of the yard about 20ft away.  My wife Gail will send some info to follow.

Salty is settling in well in his new home here in Virginia. For an 11-year-old he is very active and playful, and loves his toys, tossing them in the air!

He seems to have springs in his legs as he easily scales furniture to get to his favorite perches.

He is smart and responding well to “sit and stay” when it’s mealtime. He seems to like to be near us whenever possible and follows my husband around the house. Salty greets new people enthusiastically! He will meet his new vet next week, and we will look into a trainer experienced with rescue dogs to fine tune his behavior.
