CCTR’s Dog Tails of Summer – Johnny Cash (NKA Cash) – Adopted 5/7/2026

Well, he’s never fallen in to a ring of fire, never walked the line, or been in Folsom Prison, but he is named Johnny Cash. We just call him Cash. He started as just another cairn brought in to rescue. He came to us as a temporary foster/new intake. We were just waiting for him to be processed out. We’ve been through this countless times before. He seemed to take a shine to me right away.

I have been away from home for 3 years now traveling for my job. I’m generally alone. Nell brought him with her for a short visit. After being with them both, I told Nell I couldn’t let him go.

I didn’t know it, but I needed a traveling companion.

So, Cash has become my Co-Inspector for a new long-haul fiber network build. We follow 5 construction crews and oversee their work for quality and safety mostly. Cash is a big hit with all the workers. His greatest joy is when they come up to the truck to talk to Dad. They’re not fooling me; they just want to see Cash! He climbs over me, with no regard! It’s all about getting scritches and pets!

Needless to say I’d be lost without him!  Mike
